Mission

Highline Construction Group is a full service construction management and general contracting firm founded by Mark Dobbin to deliver the utmost in craftsmanship to esteemed architects, designers and property owners in New York’s luxury residential market.

Versatile in a myriad of architectural vernaculars, Highline Construction Group has completed significant work in Manhattan’s most desirable landmark buildings as well as some of its most stunning new modern towers.

In an industry known for late turnarounds, Highline has established a new level of excellence by scheduling and completing even the most challenging projects with fast-tracking efficiency and skill.

Its boutique size allows Mark and senior management to be directly involved in every project from pre-construction planning through completion, and this high level of personalized attention provides meticulous execution of increasingly complex build-outs.

Understanding that each project is unique, teams of talented project managers and site supervisors are carefully assembled and paired with a roster of skilled artisans to realize dynamic, modern architecture and design.

An increasingly impressive portfolio of A-list projects and repeat business with esteemed architects and designers attest to the efficient management skills and superior customer care practiced at Highline Construction Group.

LEadership

On-site: (L) Mark Dobbin, (R) Breandán Timothy.

Mark Dobbin

Founder and principal, Mark Dobbin, began his career as a carpenter in his native Ireland before heading to New York in 1999. Soon after, Mark began working for the renowned residential contracting firm, SMI Construction, where he spent over a decade under the mentorship of the highly respected industry veteran, Steve Mark.

In 2011, Mark established Highline Construction Group, and has spent the eleven years since building for some of Manhattan’s most celebrated architects and designers—as well as its most discerning homeowners.

A comprehensive knowledge of craftsmanship, hands-on management and deep commitment to service have propelled Highline to the very top of the luxury residential construction market.

Breandán Timothy

Vice-President, Breandán Timothy, emigrated from Ireland in 2001. With a BS in Quantity Surveying, he took a position at high-end construction firm Duce Construction, where he ran the estimating department for over a decade.

In 2012, Breandán joined Highline Construction Group managing all contracts and estimates, including oversight of the firm’s robust subcontractor base.  His deep industry experience and dedication to details allows Highline to create all-encompassing bids resulting in minimal change orders and allowing the constant forward motion necessary to meet tight schedules and deliver on time and on budget.

Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of a construction project, management of vendors and trades, monitoring schedules and cash flows, maintaining accurate records and communication of information to involved parties throughout the course of a building project.

Responsible for the overall coordination of a project.

Responsible for providing all of the material, labor, equipment (such as vehicles and tools) and services necessary for the construction of the project.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

Construction Management (CM) is the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from beginning to completion, meeting a client's requirement to produce a functionally and financially viable project.

Acts as an extension of staff to the Owner and manages the entire project with pre-planning, design, construction, engineering and management expertise.

Hires specialized subcontractors and holds all subcontracts for construction.

Responsible for the entire construction project, from permits, to bids, and right through to the punch list.

Construction Management Advisory (CMA) consists of our acting as an advisor to the owner throughout the project, providing pre-construction services - estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews and coordinating work of one general contractor or several prime contractors.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION SERVICES

Pre-construction services (PRECON) are used in planning a construction project before the actual construction begins.

PRECON is the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion aimed at meeting a client’s requirements in order to produce a functionally and financially viable project.

In PRECON, the early feasibility studies, and design development is supported by construction cost estimators, who prepare cost estimates for use in the decision-making process. This process starts with planning, and is supported by conceptual or order-of-magnitude estimates.

Beyond cost estimating, the PRECON team participates in value engineering, value analysis, scheduling, constructability reviews, and design costs.

POST-CONSTRUCTION SERVICES / MAINTENANCE

Our in-house service team is on hand 24/7 to assist with:

  • Any emergency that may arise or damage that may ensue
  • Property management
  • Maintenance
  • Punch list
